Visual identity and website for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology-generated startup, called FourthPower (also known as Thermal Battery).

FourthPower focuses on ‘making renewable energy as reliable as fossil fuels, utilizing large-scale batteries to store and supply electricity to the grid when the sun isn’t shining or wind isn’t blowing’.

FourthPower needed me to help create a new brand story to better communicate to customers that it’s technology ‘makes renewable energy an on-demand energy source through utility-scale thermal storage’.

They do this by harnessing today’s ‘wasted wind and solar production to respond to grid needs at a cost competitive with fossil fuels’.

‘With the ability to provide short- and long-duration energy storage (LDES), [they] can grow with the grid to save consumers money and ensure a clean energy future.’
